“Space Out”

A playful assembly of holographic acrylic puzzle pieces, acrylic prisms, and playful printed papers, “Space Out” takes puzzles to an entirely new level. For the animation I felt a simple shift in depth of field would be the perfect movement to bring to this piece.

Contemplations:

Puzzle pieces are like the original analog pixel… sort of. I enjoy watching an image emerge from the chaos one oddly shaped smear of color at a time. Like the difference between driving through someplace or walking, you’ll see things in greater detail and appreciate them on a whole new level. Plus there’s always that aha moment when you find that piece you SWORE was definitely not in the box. (happens every time)
